Stellenbosch & Franschhoek Wine Tasting

Our Cape Winelands tour begins with a visit to Stellenbosch, which forms part of the well-frequented wine route. 'Stellies' as it is affectionately known is a university town that offers a vibrant street culture and illustrates an aspect of South Africa's architectural heritage. We will have the chance to walk the oak-lined streets and visit a beautiful wine estate before continuing to Franschhoek. This area is home to a picturesque village that is surrounded by towering mountains, valleys, and vineyards and is situated in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Here you will discover award-winning wines and the meaning of gastronomy while getting an understanding of why this little slice of the Cape is referred to as ‘The food and wine capital of South Africa’. 

ITINERARY

• Collected at 9am from your guesthouse/hotel in Cape Town

• We start our day with a visit to Stellenbosch - a university town steeped in history with its historical Cape Dutch buildings, many of which have been declared National Monuments

• Take a walk through the town, shop, or enjoy coffee at one of the cafes

• Wine Tasting experience

• Continue to Franschhoek

• Wine tasting continues as we visit renowned wine estates in Franschhoek

• After wine tasting we will have the chance to explore Franschhoek and have a bite to eat at one of the many exceptional restaurants/ cafes in this area. The village is lined with shops and specialist stores, arts and crafts studios and collectables. It houses some beautiful Art Galleries which sell paintings of local renowned artists

• Return to Cape Town at approximately 5pm
