Victoria Falls and Botswana Safari

What better way to experience Africa than by merging two incredible experiences into one? We begin our trip in Zambia where we stay in a lodge on the Zambezi River for two nights; embark on a sunset cruise on the Zambezi; visit Victoria Falls; a local market; and enjoy the lodge’s facilities and various activities on offer.

The following four nights will be split between Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta in Botswana, which we travel to by road and chartered aircraft.

Chobe National Park is home to a huge population of elephants as well as other wildlife species. Our lodge is situated just outside of the park on the banks of the Chobe River, which forms the northern boundary of the park. Experience two safari activities each day, either a game drive in the park or a boat cruise on the river, to view wildlife.

Our final stop is the sought-after Okavango Delta, and inland delta that occurs when the Okavango River flows into the Kalahari Desert in northern Botswana. In June the water starts flowing from the wet highlands of Angola into the very dry Delta, and by July much of the Okavango has filled up attracting many animals and allowing for water-based activities such as traveling my Mokoro (a dug-out canoe) to view wildlife.

ITINERARY

Day 1

· Flight ex Johannesburg to Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport, Zambia

· Collected from the airport and transferred by road to the lodge

· Afternoon at leisure

· In the late afternoon enjoy a boat cruise on the Zambezi River as the sun sets

Overnight: Zambezi Lodge BB

Day 2

· After an early breakfast we visit Victoria Falls – there will be plenty of time to soak in your surroundings

· After the Falls we will visit the market to see the handicrafts of the talented locals

· We return to our lodge and spend the rest of the day enjoying time around the pool overlooking the Zambezi - alternatively, you can partake in the various optional activities on offer

Day 3

· This morning we depart on the next leg of the journey, which takes us to Chobe National Park in Botswana

· Road Transfer ex Zambia to our Lodge in Botswana

· Check into lodge

· This evening we will enjoy our first safari activity in the Chobe National Park

· Return to our lodge early evening for a delicious dinner

Overnight: Chobe Eco Lodge DBB

Day 4

· Morning safari experience

· Return to the lodge for breakfast

· Spend the rest of the day around the pool or partake in additional activities such as the Village Walkabout or Bicycle Tour of the Village

· This afternoon head out on another exciting game drive in the park

· Return to the lodge for dinner

Day 5

· Today we will transfer to Kasane Airport and take a chartered flight into the Okavango Delta

· You will be met by welcoming hosts on the airstrip and shown to the camp

· This afternoon we partake in a safari activity

· Dinner in the Delta

Overnight: Delta Camp Full Board

Day 6

· Early morning safari activity – there is a large concentration of animals in this region as well as over 500 species of birds

· Return to the lodge for a day at leisure
