Duration:
A tour of South Africa’s endangered cheetah and wild cat species followed by a fun boat cruise to view the hippos and crocodiles of St Lucia – a World Heritage Site.
HIGHLIGHTS
The Zululand Cat Conservation Project at Emdoneni Lodge offers visitors the chance to get up close and personal with some of South Africa's endangered wildcat species, including the world's fastest land animal, the cheetah. The aim of the project is to care for and rehabilitate orphaned or injured wildcat species. Breeding of the project's ambassador animals allows the offspring to be released back into the wild. After this experience we travel to the town of St Lucia, a place where humans and hippos live side by side. There will be time to explore the town, visit the local market, and get a bite to eat before embarking on a two hour boat cruise on the St Lucia Estuary, home to the largest populations of hippos in South Africa, for close-up sightings.
