MANYONI GAME RESERVE
Manyoni Private Game Reserve is situated in the heart of Zululand in KwaZulu-Natal and has earned a reputable name due to its conservation efforts of endangered animal species. We have selected three of our favourite lodges within the reserve, which see our guests return on a regular basis because of the warm hospitality, comfortable accommodation, and excellent game viewing.
How it came about
In 2007, seventeen landowners made the decision to drop their fences to create a protected area of 23000 hectares for wildlife. In 2005, Manyoni was confirmed as a release site for the WWF Black Rhino Range Expansion Project and the reserve saw its first population of black rhinos arrive. Fast forward a couple of years and Manyoni is now home to all members of the Big Five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino) and guests are able to view these animals while staying at the reserve.
Getting there
Manyoni Private Game Reserve is a three-hour drive from Durban and transfers can be arranged on request.
