Welcome to Safaris For Africa
As a family we spent many holidays exploring some of Southern Africa's most beautiful spots; experiences that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. These early family adventures became the inspiration to share our love for wildlife, culture and the great outdoors.
Over the years our vision has remained the same; to create authentic African experiences and lasting memories for travelers to take back home. With that said, we have had the privilege of hosting guests - many who have become friends as they returned year after year - into the very places that shaped who we are today.
Our approach is personal and our values are rooted in the ‘Spirit of Ubuntu’, an African phrase that simply means ‘My humanity is inextricably bound up in yours’ – Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
Your journey is our journey and we feel privileged to be a part of it.
SAFARIS FOR CHANGE
Future of Africa
Over the years I have hosted the students and professors of Carthage University (Kenosha, Wisconsin) in South Africa. On their most recent visit, I took Carthage University to Nkume Primary School, which is based in Emageleni. This was kindly arranged on my behalf by my friend Zandile Sibiya, who is a senior teacher at the school.
Following our visit, Dr Michelle Hancock of Carthage University made an immediate decision to form an ongoing relationship with Nkume and since then we have been working together on various projects for the school. After their first trip Carthage returned to the United States and began raising funds through an organisation named “Future of Africa”. They returned the following year to Nkume, where they worked at the school for a period of time. Carthage has since built a new playground, donated educational toys, refurbished desks, painted classrooms, installed much-needed water tanks and most recently built an entire new kitchen for the school.
We are so excited to be part of this project and are committed to assisting Carthage University with the brilliant work they have begun. I find a sense of fulfillment knowing that we have the ability to touch the lives of others and make a difference - Sue, owner at Safaris for Africa
