SABI SANDS GAME RESERVE
The Sabi Sands Game Reserve got its name from the Sabi and Sand rivers that flow through its interior and is one of Africa’s most exclusive game reserves. Sharing an unfenced border with the Kruger National Park, animals can roam freely across a humongous area of land ensuring an authentic safari experience. The famous Big Five (buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, and rhino) frequent this region, including over 500 different bird species and other wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, hyenas, hippos, wild dogs, and many antelope species.
Known for leopard sightings, the Sabi Sands offers exceptional photographic opportunities for novices and professionals alike and we recommend spending a minimum of two nights in the reserve to get the most out of your time here. There are numerous luxury lodges that vary in price and will include meals, safari game drives, and extra comfort for your time in the bush. Day visitors are not permitted in this reserve so you can expect front-row seats when it comes to wildlife sightings.
Best time to visit: During the winter months May – September as the vegetation is sparse making it easier to spot animals. Please book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
