Explore Zambia

Zambia is Africa’s hidden jewel and a nature lover's paradise. Her wild African bushland, beautiful lakes and rivers are a sight to behold. Victoria Falls, located on the Zambezi River, is one of the largest waterfalls in the world and also one of the greatest attractions in Africa.

For the safari lovers, Kafue National Park (Zambia's oldest and largest national park) and South Luangwa National Park both hold an abundance of wildlife. Alternatively, spend your holiday on the banks of the Zambezi embarking on sunset cruises, helicopter flips and meandering the footpaths alongside the falls.

Zambians are full of enthusiasm for their country and this contributes to an exceptional experience.

Zambia FAQs

When is the best time to visit Zambia?

The best time to visit Zambia, specifically to see Victoria Falls is between March and June as the falls are at their best after the summer rains. Activities such as river rafting on the Zambezi is possible from December to April, and Livingstone Island (Devil’s Pool) from August to mid-January when water levels are lower. The dry months (May-October) is best for wildlife safaris.

Which Airport do I fly to when visiting Zambia?

Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport (Livingstone Airport, Zambia) and Victoria Falls Airport (Zimbabwe) are the closest airports to the falls.

What are the top attractions in Zambia?

  • Helicopter Flip over the Falls

  • Lower Zambezi National Park

  • South Luangwa National Park

  • Zambezi River

What are the top safaris in Zambia?

What is the best way to handle finances in Zambia?

The currency in Zambia is the Zambian Kwacha, and this is the most accepted form of payment. We recommend traveling with credit cards/ debit cards as these will be accepted at your accommodation. Not all banks charge foreign transaction fees but please check with your credit card issuer. Please also advise your bank prior to departure that you will be using your credit cards in Namibia. There will be the opportunity to withdraw cash at the airport and towns, and this is a better way to manage your money safely rather than travelling with large amounts of cash on hand.

Is Zambia Safe?

Zambia is considered a safe country to visit in Africa, which is why it is such a popular destination among tourists. That said it is not exempt from crime so just be mindful in bigger cities and towns from things like pickpocketing and when drawing cash at ATMS.
