Cape Town, Kruger National Park & Victoria Falls

DESCRIPTION

Spend four nights in the ‘Mother City’, with an action-packed itinerary that will show you the very best of Cape Town’s mountains, ocean, winelands, and city. On your fifth day fly into the Kruger National Park for three nights for an epic safari experience in one of the best wildlife destinations in Southern Africa. Visit the Blyde River Canyon on the Panorama Route before heading back to Johannesburg for one night in preparation for the next leg of your journey to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

ACCOMMODATION

Your hotel in Cape Town is situated on the waterfront, giving you plenty of opportunities to experience what is on offer in this area. Your stay in the Kruger is within a private concession that is home to the beautiful Imbali Lodge. Your suite has a private plunge pool for those hot summer days and spa treatments are available in between your game drives, which take place in open 4x4 Land Cruisers. One night at the Johannesburg Intercontinental Airport Hotel, will ensure that you are on time for your flight the next morning to Zambia where you will stay for the next two nights at the Aha David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa. The lodge is positioned on the Zambezi River, a short drive away from Victoria Falls.

ITINERARY

DAY 1

• Collected from Cape Town International Airport – please look out for a board on which your name will be displayed 

• Transfer to your hotel

• Check in 

• The rest of the day is at leisure 

• Overnight: Cape Town Hotel BB

DAY 2

• Collected at 7am from your guesthouse/hotel

• Ascend Table Mountain via the cablecar and enjoy panoramic views of the city

• This is followed by a city tour visiting iconic landmarks such as the Bo-Kaap, Parliament Buildings and Green Market Square

• Our tour finishes at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront where you can get a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants on offer and explore the many shopping stalls (own account)

• Overnight: Cape Town Hotel BB

DAY 3

• Depart at 7am for our Cape Peninsula Tour

• Drive along the Atlantic Seaboard passing through some of Cape Town’s most sought-after beach towns such as Bantry Bay, Camps Bay and Llandudno

• Visit Hout Bay and hop aboard a boat for a short trip to Seal Island - home to thousands of Cape Fur Seals

• Enjoy brilliant photographic opportunities along Chapman’s Peak Drive, which stretches between Hout bay and Noordhoek as we make our way to Cape Point

• Enter Cape Point Nature Reserve and travel to Cape Point – the most southwestern point of the African continent (there is even a sign to prove you were there!)

• Meet the African Penguins of Boulders Beach 

• Return to your hotel in the late afternoon

DAY 4

• 9am departure for the Cape Winelands

• Visit the town of Stellenbosch and walk its oak-lined streets filled with arts, crafts, and cafes

• Travel to Franschhoek – the ‘food and wine capital’ of South Africa

• Enjoy lunch in the village (own account) and explore the town

• This afternoon we will visit a beautiful wine farm for a cellar tour & wine tasting

• Return to Cape Town in the late afternoon

• Overnight: Cape Town Hotel BB

DAY 5

• Morning transfer to Cape Town International Airport

• Flight ex Cape Town International Airport to Skukuza Airport (inside the Kruger National Park)

• On arrival, please look out for a board on which your names will be displayed

• Transfer through the park to Imbali Safari Lodge (the drive is approximately 1.5 hours)

• Check in

• Game drive & sundowners

• Return to the lodge for dinner

• Overnight: Imbali Safari Lodge Full Board

DAY 6

• Early morning safari game drive – one of the best times of the day to go in search of animals

• Return to the lodge for a buffet breakfast under the trees on the outside deck

• The rest of the day is at leisure to relax by the pool or enjoy spa treatments (own account)

• High Tea is offered before your next safari game drive, made up of a selection of cakes and freshly baked pastries

• Afternoon safari game drive – hopefully luck is on your side, and you will spot some of Africa’s wildcats in action!

• Dinner

• Overnight: Imbali Safari Lodge Full Board

DAY 7

• Morning safari

• Breakfast

• Day at leisure

• This afternoon head out again on an exciting game drive in search of nocturnal animals

• Return to the lodge early evening for dinner

DAY 8

• Final morning game drive

• Breakfast

• Check out- please settle any expenses you may have incurred during your stay

• Visit Blyde River Canyon on the Panorama Route

• Transfer to Hoedspruit Airport for your flight to Johannesburg

• Check in to hotel

• Overnight: Johannesburg Intercontinental Hotel BB

DAY 9

• Flight ex O.R Tambo International Airport to Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport (Livingstone) Zambia

• On arrival please look out for a board on which your names will be displayed

• Road transfer to your lodge

• Sunset Cruise on the Zambezi River

• Overnight: Aha David Livingstone & Spa BB

DAY 10

• After an early breakfast we visit Victoria Falls – walk the pathways along the Falls that offer excellent viewing points and photographic opportunities

• We visit the market with its many curios and meet the locals

• Return to the lodge for lunch

• The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy a range of additional activities such as a helicopter flip or microlight flight over the falls; gorge swing; white water rafting; or spa treatments (own account)

• Alternatively, you can relax at the hotel and enjoy the view over the Zambezi river
