Cape Town Helicopters

Considering a proposal? Celebrating your anniversary? Or is it your loved one’s birthday? Champagne Cruise

The Atlantic Ocean forms an exceptional backdrop of the Mother City and viewing Cape Town from these waters offers a romantic setting for those in love. The Champagne Cruise departs the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront via a 45 foot catamaran, which sails along the Atlantic coastline. Guests are offered a complimentary glass of champagne (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) while taking in the views of Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles Mountain range.

Signal Hill Sundowners

Three iconic features of Cape Town are Table Mountain, Lions Head and next to them, Signal Hill. Accessed by road, Signal Hill is a local favourite for those wanting to watch the sun set over the city. All you need is a picnic blanket, a spot on the hill and your favourite drinks and snacks and you have yourself the perfect romantic setting. Tip: Leave Signal Hill once the sun sets to avoid getting stuck in traffic and for safety measures.

Estimated time required: In summer the sun sets just before 19h00pm so give yourself enough time to enjoy the views before the night skies settle in.

Chocolate & Wine Pairing at Groot Constantia

Close to the city, in the Constantia Valley, is South Africa’s oldest wine producing estate. If you and your partner enjoy the fruits of Bacchus then Groot Constantia is your place to be with Cape Dutch architecture, guided cellar tours, delicious food, and expansive views to look forward to. The Chocolate and Wine Pairing presents five selected wines and five handcrafted chocolates for a unique tasting experience.

The Galileo Open Air Cinema

Who doesn’t love kicking it old school with an outdoor cinema? Every year over the summer, Cape Town hosts several open-air cinema viewings, which make for a great date night. Big screen favourites, popcorn and other delicious food and drink are available along with your cosy spot under the stars! Insider tip: On the first Wednesday of every month, a Royal VIP cinema experience is on offer so make sure to secure your tickets in advance.

Theatre Evening

Cape Town is recognised for having a diverse performing arts scene with plays, operas, ballets, and comedy evenings on show throughout the year. Venues such as The Artscape Theatre Centre, Theatre on the Bay, Maynardville Open Air Theatre, and the Kalk Bay Theatre (to name a few) offer enticing line-ups with tickets available online. A fun way to experience the city’s cultural scene!

Romantic Dinner for two

Renowned for its cuisine, this city is not short of excellent restaurants and couples can take their pick from several fine dining spots that will fire up the taste buds! From the Pot Luck Club in Woodstock, to the Chefs Warehouse at Tintswalo Atlantic Boutique Hotel, and over the mountain to La Colombe in Constantia, the only challenge ahead is selecting which place to go to.

Couples Spa Package at the 12 Apostles

The 12 Apostles Hotel is home to an award-winning Spa with views that stretch across the Atlantic Ocean. A Swedish massage in an enclosed mountain gazebo followed by lunch in the hotel’s Café Grill may be just the way to celebrate a special occasion.

Picnic in Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens

Set against the slopes of Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch is a natural wonder and considered one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in the world. This is a magical place to spend the morning, afternoon, or early evening, strolling through the thousands of species of plants. Fynokos Tea Room, situated in the gardens, has picnic takeaway platters on offer and these can be pre-ordered online. Bring your blanket and enjoy the scenery!

Travel the Cape Peninsula

Can a road trip be romantic? We think this one can. Travelling along the Atlantic Seaboard to the Cape Point Nature Reserve is a feast for the eyes with endless views of the ocean accompanying you along the way. At the southeast corner of the Cape Peninsula lies Cape Point, where a funicular ride to the viewing point (which sits just below and old lighthouse) makes for a very romantic setting. Visit the penguins at Boulders Beach on your way home - a romantic bird species if there was one, that only has one partner for life!
