About this trip

The Olpopongi Maasai Cultural Village is situated in the West-Kilimanjaro Maasailand and welcomes visitors to Maasai life in an authentic and respectful way. Your visit will support local Maasai families with water, food, employment, personal income, medical treatments, and education. This cultural experience is followed by a safari in Arusha National Park, home to Tanzania’s second highest mountain, Mount Meru, and the world’s largest population of giraffes. With Tanzania being one of the largest coffee-growing countries in the world, our trip ends with a delicious Coffee Tour before returning you to Arusha.

All houses are built the traditional way with local and natural materials only - similar to those ones of the nearby Maasai people. Only some additions, such as exterior washrooms and the kitchen, are different from the Maasai culture, but built for your hygienic comfort & full satisfaction.

Hatari Lodge

Nestled between the majestic Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro, the lodge provides guests with a front-row seat to vibrant ecosystems where animals roam freely.
