About this trip

Welcome to the Okavango Delta, a wildlife wonderland that is experienced by vehicle, motorized boat or Mokoro. Your stay is at Nxabega Tented Camp, which is cradled under a canopy of African ebony trees and where each tent sits on a raised wooden platform boasting sweeping views over the Okavango Delta. The Delta is probably best known for its Mokoro rides (which are seasonal and dependent on water levels) and these are boating trips through the maze-like channels and shallow lagoons of the Delta that allow you to approach wildlife silently. You will see many animals that feed on the grass and reeds on the palm islands such as lechwe, sitatunga, elephant, hippo and crocodile.

Daily Itinerary Summary

Day 1: Okavango Delta

Collected from the airstrip near Nxabega Tented Camp in the Okavango Delta by your welcoming hosts

Transfer to the camp to get settled

This afternoon embark on your first safari activity in the Okavango

Your safari activities will be conducted in a 4x4 game vehicle, motorized boat, or mokoros, which used to be hand crafted out of large Delta trees. Today most of the boats used in the Delta are fibre glass replicas, to prevent the cutting down and depletion of the Delta’s magnificent trees

Return to the camp for an exquisite evening under the African night sky

All lodges in Botswana charge a single supplement rate for travellers staying on their own in a room, which is more expensive that the per person sharing rate
Please note we do not compromise on quality, so our travel packages are designed to give our guests the very best of this once in a lifetime experience
This trip takes you into a remote location in Botswana where there is limited cell phone reception, however complimentary Wi-Fi is available for those needing to work or stay connected to the outside world!
The Okavango Delta is a malaria area so please consult your doctor for necessary precautions while traveling
There are direct flights from Johannesburg to Maun and chartered flights from Maun into the Delta and these can be arranged on your behalf at your request
Children under the age of 12 sharing with 1 or 2 adult are charged 50% of the adult rate. This is subject to the availability of triple rooms
